Trying to be an influence for good
introduction to skateboarding
this is the first skateboarding tutorial I have ever produced, so hopefully, they only get better from here.
The one sentence summary of this video is: Wider skateboards and softer wheels are more beginner friendly. (in my opinion)
this video discusses where to buy your first skateboard, what sort of factors to consider, things that you don't need to worry about and just a general idea of how wheels, width and trucks affect your comfort on a skateboard.
this video wasn't made for people familiar with skateboarding. it was made for beginner skateboarders. people who have never skateboarded before but are curious about starting and don't know where to begin. this could also be good for parents who have children interested in skateboarding but would like to be a little more educated before buying a new skateboard.
I'm open to feedback and would love to hear questions

This is so helpful. I’m kinda in the same spot with my skateboarding journey. I ride a longboard to work and want to move to my smaller skateboard but kinda afraid of ridding something I’m not quite strapped into. I can see this helping learn how to power slide also. Definitely going to look into getting a smollie.

Dang!!! Didn't see a review coming- this is quite a surprise!!! Thank you for your thoughtful approach to this- you covered so much here! From the physical aspect and muscle memory/balance when landing, which is obvious at the surface level, to the mental aspect - what does this do for your level of confidence in approaching new tricks/maneuvers, which is a much higher level of perspective. SO awesome!!! Staying tuned for more!!!

Agreed! There are great people in all communities. I'm grateful that I get the opportunity to do this in the skate community. Also, based on your user name, I assume one of your parents served. I just retired from the Army. I know how hard it was on my kids. Hopefully it wasn't too bad for you. I'm thankful for your sacrifice.
